This is a very sweet little silver besom broom to hang on your charm bracelet. It is 2.5cms long including the split ring and is stamped 925.
Besom brooms are used to cleanse ritual areas and altars before starting work. Traditionally they have an ash handle, birch bristles and are tied together with willow.
The besom is also sometimes used in the handfasting ceremony when the couple jump over the broom into their new lives making this possibly a wonderfully symbolic gift. |
